IDAHO IRRIGATION

PUMPERS ASSOCIATION

Idaho Irrigation Pumpers Association, Inc. (IIPA) thanks all our donors past and present who have made it possible for IIPA to represent irrigators across Idaho since 1969.

IIPA is a not for profit organization that relies solely on voluntary donations. Those donations are used to represent irrigators in general rate case increases, and to work collaboratively for alternative solutions to power increases. IIPA’s only mission is to keep pumping electric costs within reason across the Idaho Power and Rocky Mountain Power service areas in Idaho. Without IIPA, irrigators would have no representation in electric rate cases that go before the Public Utilities Commission and increases would be unopposed. Irrigators would ultimately pay the price of unfair and unequal raises in electricity rates. The IIPA board serves voluntarily, without compensation, and are all farmers who are directly impacted by increased electric rates. Therefore, the cause is something they all are passionate about.

Program Informational Update from Vice President Sid Erwin

“During summer months (June through September) when the load each company serves is at its maximum, the solar panel resource is at its peak and provides a positive addition to the companies’ resource collection. As the sun sets in the late afternoon and evening, the ability of solar panels to produce electricity is reduced causing the solar resource to lose its position on the list of resources……..The power companies need to maintain this load to maintain system stability…”

IIPA'S COMMITMENT

Idaho Irrigation Pumpers Association is a non-profit organization committed to ensuring a reliable power supply at a reasonable cost for Idaho’s irrigation pumpers. Its programs are guided by a volunteer Board of Directors representing a broad cross section of Idaho irrigators and electrical energy users. IIPA is committed to providing legal and technical representation for Idaho’s irrigation pumpers before the Idaho Public Utilities Commission, the Idaho State Legislature and in other forums where the future and cost of our electrical supply is discussed. IIPA is funded by voluntary contributions from individuals, corporations, associations, and businesses interested in achieving the Association’s goals and objectives of providing an inexpensive, reliable electrical power supply for Idaho’s irrigators. Contributions to the Association are not classified as charitable but are deductible as a regular business expense. Less than 5% of the Association’s funds are used for administration.  The balance is used for legal and technical services.

Did You Know...

Approximately

25% of the power

used by Rocky Mountain Power & Idaho Power

IS FOR IRRIGATION.

That means that the other 75% would love to shift more costs to irrigators. Join with us to make sure we are keeping our power costs as low as possible. We are your voice with the power companies.

Recently, IIPA represented Idaho irrigators in a

rate case

that prevented

unreasonable

increases to our farmers and landowners

Intervention from IIPA resulted in the proposed increase being reduced by over 4%! A reduction that equates to millions saved by Idahoans. Idaho Irrigation Pumpers Association (IIPA) is your only representative in irrigation class rate cases that involve all pumpers in the usage areas of the Idaho Power Company and Rocky Mountain Power.
